Big Boy

So we have been working on potty training with Jaden. He does pretty well, but only if he wants to. We bought him some "big boys" and he has been so excited to wear them that there are a few days I am lucky to get him dressed because he only wants to wear them!

Mommy Time

Those of you reading this probably think all I do is complain about my kids not napping. And in a way you are right. This becomes my outlet. Thanks for reading. I will try to change my attitude before sitting down at the computer. I am greatful for a 3 year old who will watch cartoons (because he was woken up by his screaming brother) in mommy's bed while she takes a nap. Thanks bud. And Jace, thanks for FINALLY taking a nap now that it is 4:00 PM! After all is said and done, I love my boys and am greatful to be thier mother. I would not change a thing. As rough as today was, I know that as soon as Jace wakes up from the much needed nap he is taking that I will swoop him up and cuddle. Every mother has one of those days when they just want to scream, but would we appreciate the good as much if we didn't have the bad? I am also thankful for a husband who attempts to understand my frustration and is okay with not having dinner on the table everyday, who accepts the days I don't comb my hair and am in my sweats all day, and takes the boys out of my hads as I walk out the door for a little mommy time. Much deserved might I add.

Naps

Thanks goodness for the days when both kids have them at the same time and you can actually get something done. I have had good intentions to keep up on this blog, and post something at least weekly, but at you check the dates you can see that hasn't happened! Jaden turned 3 on the 29th of August. He is still a good kid, he just likes to test his mother a little more than he use to. He talks a hundred miles a minute and there are days that I pray for 5:30 to come quicker, so that I can get some relief. (That's when daddy gets home.) Jace is laughing at us now. He loves to smile and be played with. He cries when he thinks he is being ignored. He rolls over both from his back to front and front to back now. He has been a little fussy the last couple days. I really think we will have a tooth before much longer. Judd was excited to be in Texas at the BYU game last weekend. He had a great experience. I took the kids and stayed at my mom's while he was gone. I wasn't going to have the kids all weekend alone. It only took my parents 20 minutes of Jadens nonstop energy before they understood why I was there! Jaden asks daily to go back to "thornton's" house. He had a great time playing with their trains. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! That's it for now. Hopefull I will do a bit better over the next few week. Pray for naps!

Put it to song!

Jaden is going through this stage that he has to sing about everything!! Last night we couldn't find his beloved duck that he sleeps with, so we offered him many other choices. After settling on his blue bear and George the monkey, we headed to bed. After a minute or two we heard him singing and curiously snuck to his door. He was singing, "I miss my ducky, he is not here, I left him at grandmas house, oh no, oh no, I miss my ducky!" It was hilarious! We had to hurry back to our room so we could laugh. Then today as Judd left to go back to work, Jaden began singing again. "I have to stay here with my mommy because daddy goes to work. I miss my daddy, I miss my daddy." What a funny phase for me to observe. I love to hear the songs he comes up with. Jace is sucking his thumb, he will spit his binky out to suck his thumb. I am not sure I like this!! I was a thumb sucker and it is a hard habit to break!

Refreshing

At dinner tonight, Jaden turned to his dad and said, "Dad, I am a boy and mommy is a girl." After some praising from Judd and I on this new knowledge, I asked Jaden what daddy was. He got a very puzzled look on his face and stammered a few 'Daddy is a . . . Daddy is a . . , I don't know what is he?' On days like today after nights like last night my first thought is, Good question. But instead of verbalizing this, I simply stated, "Daddy is a boy just like you." Thanks Jaden!

Start up

Well, here we go! Everyone keeps telling me to start a blog, so I suppose I can work on it a bit while the kids nap. So no promises on how much will get put on here. Judd is working at Peck Ormsby and loves his job. He enjoys the people he works with and enjoys crunching numbers. Jaden turns 3 in 9 days!! I can't believe how fast the time flies. He loves to spell, count, and play with friends. He is starting to potty train, some days are better than others. But at least he is showing some interest! Jace is 4 and 1/2 months old. He has started rolling over and laughing out loud. Jaden loves being a big brother and is always smothering Jace with his affection. Jace loves his big brother and loves to observe him. I am enjoying being at home. What a blessing to be able to be around while my kids grow up. This is my first year staying at home and I am excited to see how it all plays out.
